Teenage Hearts -Chapter 1-

-Charlie's P.O.V-

"And the winner is..."
My heart was beating faster than ever before as I stood on the stage with my fellow band-mates. This was the moment that we'd all been waiting for. Dermot O'Leary was just about to announce the results of the X Factor 2012. I closed my eyes and attempted to control my breathing as I felt Emma's fingers grab my hand and give it a reassuring squeeze. I smiled at her and the best of the band.
"Eve Moran!" Dermot shouted.
The crowd erupted into loud cheers and applause. I felt my heart sink as her name echoed through the loud speakers. Tears pricked at the back of my eyes and as I went to congratulate Eve I furiously tried to hold them back. I gave her a half-hearted smile then murmured, "Congratulations." before moving out of the way so the rest of the band could do the same.

Once off-stage I stumbled into the lounge and fell to the floor crying. Emma, Jey, Maddy and Hope came into the room shortly afterwards and crowded around me. Jey lifted me to my feet and pulled me into a tight bear hug. "Don't worry Charlie. It'll be okay. At least we came second, right?"
"Y-yeah..." I nodded before wiping my eyes and smiling at them all. Sure, we came second but at least we'd done it together.
A loud knocking on the door caught our attention.
"May I come in?" A husky voice said.
"Sure!" Maddy chirped.
The door opened and Simon Cowell strode into the room.
"Hello girls. We need to talk." He said as he sat down on one of the comfy armchairs.
We sat opposite him on the three-seater and waited to see what he had to say.

There was a long pause after he said that. A little too long if you ask me. But then again, it was the X Factor.
"I've been thinking about this for a very long time girls," Simon continued, "And..."
My heart was beating quickly for the second time that day. "I think Simon Cowell is going to sign us to his record label." I thought as my fingers crossed by themselves. This could be the big break we'd all been looking for; the "moment of truth" as my mum called it.
"I'd like to sign Faith to my record label." Simon concluded, rising from his seat as the realisation set in that Faith was five teenage girls who had just been given good news. We all jumped up and screamed and hugged each other and jumped around before running over to Simon and hugging him tightly. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" We chorused between shrieks of delight.
"You have no idea how much this means to us." I added, trying to contain my excitement. But it was useless. I was just too excited.
"That's great." Simon said, giving us one of his signature white-toothed smiles. "Your first gig is next week at the O2 Arena. The limousine will pick you up at exactly three p.m so that you can arrive in good time for seven o'clock when the gig starts. If you need anything, just call this number." He handed us all a card with his details on. "Oh and you now have your own shared apartment. A car is waiting outside the X Factor house to take you there when you're ready. See you next week girls." And with that said, he left.
"Oh. My. God!" I exclaimed. Everything I'd dreamed of was happening.

Signed to a record label. Check. First gig. Check. Living my dream with my best friends. Check.
